I’ve Got Some Subscribers – Now What?! IM Dove Answers…

Here’s a new question, sent from David:

“I’ve been at this IM adventure for about a yr.now. Just in the last month I put up a squeeze page & I already have a whopping 42 subs that I’ve only been putting my link  in the comments area for FB.But my “real” problem is my blog & don’t really have a specific niche’.I’m wanting to set up an Amazon Store on it as well as other things later.But I have purchased some PLRs MRR in the past but don’t know what else to do.Any & All ideas would be appreciated.”

First off, congratulations on getting those subscribers!

You now have a proven system for getting subscribers to your mailing list, which is GREAT.

Your squeeze page seem to be in the “make money online” niche, so it seems to me you’ve already answered your own question when it comes to what niche to go for.

My advice is to keep sending traffic to your squeeze page with your proven method, and supplement with other traffic sources.

Your blog could also be a part of your traffic strategy by using it to drive traffic to your squeeze page. You can take some of the PLR and MRR material you have purchased in the past, and turn it into blog posts.

Make sure you make it your own, and don’t copy/paste as you want to make sure your content is both unique and does not violate any of the MRR/PLR licenses. Mention your squeeze page at the end of each post, and offer an opt in box on your blog as well.

Do some research when it comes to keywords, and make sure you keep in mind SEO factors like using your primary keyword in title of post and in your meta tags.

I wouldn’t worry too much about being an affiliate for Amazon just yet…

Got a mailing list, but curious what to do next? Read on...

Focus on building a list which you can build a relationship with, and market to on a regular basis. There is nothing better than having an email list to mail to for instant traffic!

Once your list is at 150-200 subscribers or more you can start doing ad swaps. Ad swapping is a strategy where you and a partner agree to mail out for each other, using your mailing lists. You send an email promoting someones squeeze page, and that person in return does the same for you.

This way you can already leverage your mailing list quite early!

You can also buy solo ads, which basically means that you are paying for someone else to send and email out for you – to their mailing list. This is normally done on a pay per click basis, and you would normally pay $0.30 to $0.40 per click (someone clicks your link in the email) – so 100 clicks could for example cost $40.

SoloAdDirectory.com is a great place to find solo ads. For ad swaps you could go to internet marketing forums like WarriorForum.com and use their jv section to find ad swap partners.

Before buying solo ads, you should try and implement a sales funnel for your squeeze page. Once people opt in, give them a chance to buy something for you as a special offer or one time offer (OTO). This way you can profit from the solos you buy, or at least make it an even less expensive traffic source.

I was recently asked, on Ask IM Dove, this question:
“Help me in earning commissions through affiliate links. I dont have any my own website.”

Good question, and one I could answer with a complete book.

Which I won’t…

BUT there is so many ways to answer this. And thus, a great question it is!

So, let’s simplify the question, and I’ll answer it with two actionable methods which you can put to good use – starting TODAY!

How do I turn affiliate links into dollars? Read on...

Simplified question:

“How Do I Make Money With Affiliate Links?”

IM Dove Answers:

Earning money with affiliate links starts with you sending people to your link, and when they click on it AND buy (in most cases both are needed) you will make a commission.

So, in order for people to buy via your link you first need to send people to your link.

The simplest way to do this is to spread it out on the internet, without having your own website. While I don’t recommend this in the long run, it is an easy way to get started and get your feet wet.

You could…

  • Post videos on YouTube with your affiliate link in your description (start the description with your link so people notice it easier, and include the full link with http:// to make it clickable).
  • Make a blog at Blogger and write a few posts about the product you are promoting, sharing your affiliate link like that.
  • Make a lens at Squidoo, writing about the product you’re promoting.
  • Social bookmark your squidoo lens, video and blog post using a service like Social Marker.

Now that’s just ONE of many ways to do this, but it get’s your feet wet – and if you’re persistent I am confident you will make some commissions (no guarantees of course – this requires actual work on your part, and your results are dependent on YOU alone).

ANOTHER method, which in my opinion is better (for the long run), is to make a squeezepage to send people to instead of directly to your affiliate link.

That way you’re able to capture the lead’s/visitor’s email address and market to him/her repeatedly, and not just only for the one affiliate product.

If you don’t know what a squeezepage is, it’s simply a website with a SINGLE PURPOSE: to capture the visitors email address.

They way you do this is by offeringsomething for free (ebook, report, video, audio etc) in exchange for their email address.

You can either head over to the Warrior Forum to get some great advice on how to make one, or use a free Squeeze Page Creator.

You will also need an autoresponder (like Aweber) to manage your email list, and to be able to send them follow up emails and regular emails so that you can market to them on a regular basis.

You might have heard the phrase “The Money Is In The List”, and that is EXACTLY why I recommend you use a squeezepage.

Simply put…

Would you rather attempt to sell to strangers, making a big effort to warm up new cold leads daily?

…or would you rather want to sell to people that know and trust you – again and again?

You can do that – with the POWER of the list!

My heart goes out to your family and friends, and may you rest in peace.

If you haven’t heard the news yet, Steve Jobs died “peacefully” today, surrounded by family.

So I headed over to reddit.com find some videos or articles to celebrate the great man he was, and to remember him by.

I then noticed this, and it got me thinking…

Yes, we have indeed lost both Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs over the past ten years.

But instead of focusing on what we’ve lost, and what we don’t have, I choose to focus on what we have got, and what we can get.

Great men leave legends, and inspiration for others to walk in their footsteps and draw from the knowledge they’ve left behind.

Steve Jobs has been, and will continue to be, a great inspiration to me.

Article Marketing Still Awesome?

Article marketing is basically the strategy of writing articles (or having them written for you) and posting them to article directories in order to drive traffic to your (or someone elses) website.

Much has been written about this traffic source.

And no wonder.

It has been used all the way back to the early days of internet marketing. But does it still work?!

Is it still as awesome as the GURUS want you to believe?

Yes!…

BUT be prepared to rethink the way it’s done, and throw out the old skool tactics in favor of this new approach.

SO, let me explain – and THEN I’ll get you started with a simple and quick approach to article creation!

First, here are the common to drive traffic with articles..

  • SEO (articles not too effective anymore)
  • Article readers (target the directory visitors)
  • Article syndication (this is POWERFUL)

Ever since the google panda update article directories have taken a hit in the google game.

And even before that just writing articles without building links too them didn’t do much good on it’s own.

The times of “multiple articles = great SEO” are over, and you need to use that to your advantage.

That leaves us with two ways to drive traffic.

One is to directly target directory visitors themselves by doing some research on which type of articles get the most views, and then replicate their formula.

The other way, which should be your focus, is to write articles with the goal of having others copy/paste them to their websites, together with your authors/bio box where you’ve included a link back to your website/landing page.

This is called article syndication and is the most overlooked article strategy out there.

Make sure your content is unique, offers value in form of actionable steps for the reader to gain from, and you’ll be on your way to getting both directory views and syndication.

Let me share with you a great method I use to easily write good articles!

  1. Head on over to ezinearticles.com
  2. Find 5 articles on your topic and read them all
  3. Open your word processor (word, notepad, etc) and start writing. Don’t stop until you’ve finished, and don’t worry about spelling, grammar, editing etc
  4. Once finished, correct grammar/spelling and edit

See that? Doesn’t have to be hard at all!

Only 20 minutes (or less), and voilá – you’re done. Might take a little longer at first, but with practice you’ll get FAST at this.

And you can push it down to only FIVE minutes per article!

When you’re trying to make it with internet marketing, whether it be as an affiliate marketer or product owner, it can be tough at times…

And you can do the same!

You can put this to work in your internet marketing – or any area of your life for that matter.

Ever wanted to write a book to use as a front end offer for your customers? Then you can start today by taking consistent daily action.

If you only write 100 words per day, that’s 3000 words per month and 365000 per year. With the average words per page for paperback being 350, that’s just over 100 pages. For some book genres that’s enough material for a full book.

And writing 100 words doesn’t have to take any longer than 5 minutes.

How’s that for epic results from minimal daily time investment?!

Ever wanted to create your own product on a topic, but don’t really feel like you are an expert on it yet?

Why not interview other experts, record the interview, transcribe the recordings, make some slides to combine with the audio to make a video and create your own product complete with audio, video and transcribed interview?

Sounds like a lot of work? Think again!

Here’s how simple it can be with consistent action.
